A Colourful Fruit Salad Day At MITCON

Fruits are a good source of vitamins and minerals, including folate, vitamin C and potassium. They’re an excellent source of dietary fibre, which can help to maintain a healthy gut and prevent constipation and other digestion problems.
With an objective of educating the students about importance of consumption of fruit in the regular diet MITCON International School celebrated the FRUIT SALAD DAY for Pre primary students. The occasion was used to teach the kids the health benefits of fruits – one of mother nature’s amazing nourishment resource. It was a pleasant sight to see the young Mitconites carrying their favorite fruit during the virtual session. They enjoyed themselves making salads with assorted fruits on Thursday, October 29th 2020.
Yummy fresh fruits like strawberries, cherries, kiwis, apples, oranges and bananas were mixed with delicious ingredients like maple syrup, honey, lemon juice, salt and fresh mint to make a scrumptious and delectable fruit salad. Definitely our children tasted a mouth-watering fruit salad on that special day!
The little ones also learned the names of different fruits, texture, colour, taste, size and shape. They were also sensitized on the important benefit of washing fruits before eating. In a nutshell the young master chefs were quite excited and were positive about the fact that fruits are better than the junk food. The objective of teaching them the importance of fruits in a balanced diet was beautifully achieved by this real time fun filled activity which also gave them a sense of independence in making a fireless recipe!!
