Academics

MIS International School aims at a holistic development of the child and provides right set of tools to make the children independent, confident and ready to face the world through a curriculum that not just teaches a syllabus, but also develops survival skills among children!

Pre-primary

At MIS we ensure opportunities for holistic learning and growth. We lay emphasis on maximizing the inherent potential of students in an optimum way. We make the kids learn best by involving them in hands-on activities where they get to observe, touch and experiment. This also develops their critical thinking skills. This ensures a smooth transition to a primary school environment. At MIS each child is valued, respected, feels safe, secure, and develops a positive self-concept. To achieve this, we address the six domains of holistic development through an integrated approach and follow practices that are child-centered.

Primary and Middle School

Language Development readies children for effective communication and encourages expressive language. It develops familiarity with print material, develops vocabulary and ability to handle books. It also helps in understanding directionality and finding meaning in writing.

Numeracy Development includes pre-number concept, classification, sequential thinking, serration, problem solving and reasoning.

Cognitive Development stimulates intellectual curiosity and develops conceptual understanding of the world around by providing opportunities to explore, investigate and experiment.

Physical Development enables a sound foundation for fine and gross motor development. Creative Development stimulates sense of aesthetic appreciation and stimulates creative learning processes.

Personal, Social and Emotional Development enhances development of social skills, social competence and emotional well-being.

Six Domains of Development

Everything around us is rapidly changing, transforming and upgrading – be it the way we communicate, travel, purchase and work.  Thus, in turn, the jobs around us are changing as well. The skills required at work place are what the child needs to develop in his primary education itself. The gap between “syllabus” and “skill development” needs to be bridged, so as to develop the 21st Century learner, who needs to be prepared for the real life challenges.

At MIS International School, we successfully bridge this gap. In partnership with XSEED Education, a Singapore based Global Curriculum program, MIS aims to deliver a skill based, experiential learning experience to all its students, wherein every topic, and concept as prescribed in the CBSE syllabus coming first hand to the child.

A classroom at MIS revolves around the Theory of Multiple Intelligence, as delivered by world renown educationist Prof. Howard Gardner, and it takes the STEAM approach.

With the practical implementation of the Theory of Multiple Intelligence, we are able to focus on every child, since there are different types of learners in a classroom who absorb concepts in their own unique way.

STEAM is an approach of delivering education to children to prepare them in Science and Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics, the core building blocks for any kind of livelihood. It also prepares the child for all competitive exams.

The child undergoes 5A’s of a classroom experience:

AIM

Students know what they will learn rather than Chapter Numbers or Page Numbers

ACTION
