if there are no stars, there won’t be any beauty in the sky. If there is no difference of opinions there won’t be any creative and innovative ideas. Similarly, if there is no Annual Function, there won’t be any chance for our young and dynamic children to uphold the pride of the institute, to catalogue the challenges we face, the endeavors we made and the success we achieved and to show what we were, what we are and what we will be.
The annual day function of MIS was organized on 16 December 2018. The theme for the function was ‘Taare zameen par’. Before the commencement of event, Soham Sengupta, student of grade 6, performed a song on the keyboard. The chief guests for the function were Dr. Pradeep Bavadekar, Managing Director of MITCON International School and his wife Mrs. Chaaya Bavadekar. The event started with the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. On this occasion the Principal, Mrs. Monika Chhabra rose to the audience and delivered the welcome speech and presented the Annual Review to the dignitary and all parents. She walked the audience through a full year review with the pictures of each and every event and celebrations conducted throughout the year 2018-19. The cultural event started with an ebullient Welcome Dance by grade 5 to seek blessings of Lord Shree Ganesha.
The event was centered on the theme- ‘Taare Zameen par’, where all the dances were mingled with some scenes. The theme pointed out the effect of peer pressure in student’s life through two families with different approaches. All the situations and scenarios were narrated through two narrators; a counselor and a teacher. They shared their views of nurturing a child in this competitive world without hampering his / her self-identity. They even discussed that a parent should understand a capability of a child and make learning process stimulating other than making it a rat race of marks. The play had a very good message to all the parents that we create an environment where in most of students are Fish, trying to climb a tree!
All the students performed with great vehemence. The event ended with a grand finale on Galti se Mistake and an Inspirational song, Wavin Flag. The parents were exultant to see their ward dancing confidently and exuberantly on the tunes in resplendent costumes with vibrant lightings on the stage.
At the end, the honourable guest applauded the school for its multifaceted accomplishment and wished an enhanced future for the students. The principal presented vote of thanks. She showed gratitude to the parents for their incessant support. She thanked all her staff for putting abundant efforts for this event. She also thanked the ancillary staff. This was followed by the national anthem and thus the celebration concluded with pleased students and gratified parents.
