On 15 August 2018, MITCON International School, celebrated 72ndIndependence Day of our nation with great pomp, zeal and spirit befitting the occasion. The gamut of celebration activities held on the campus consisted of March Past, Flag hoisting, Principal’s address, and a variety of cultural events. The Chief Guest, Managing Director of MITCON Foundation, Dr. PradeepBavadekarand parents graced the occasion. As requested by the Principal, the parents wore Indian Traditionaloutfit which gave a traditional touch to this national event. The campus was beautifully decorated in tri colour. The atmosphere was full of positive energy and patriotic feeling.
The Activity Coordinatorwelcomed everyone for the event on this auspicious day. The celebrations started with March Past. Students marched in contingents to the beat of drum while the principal presided over it. After the march past, the Managing Director hoisted the Tricolor. The national anthem echoed in the entire campus. The march past troop saluted the flag and the dignitaries.
The cultural event started with the Principal’s address to the parents. She gave a speech reminding everyone of the sacrifices made by our great freedom fighters.The highlight of the program was a tribute paid to the motherland by young Mitconites through their dance performance on ‘Ma Tuze Salam’ which was completely mesmerizing.ShrutipriyaHosmani from grade 8 welcomed the parents and gave a speech on the ‘Unity in Diversity’.The entire atmosphere was filled with patriotic emotions when students of Sr. KG, grades 1, 2 and 3 performed on mash ups of different patriotic songs. Grade 6 student, AdvaitSonone gave speech about New emerging India. The Chief Guest, Managing Director addressed the parents by sharing his views about emerging India and upcoming changes in economics of new India.
The showstopper of this event was a dance performance on instrumental music on National Anthem by girls wearing tri-colored outfit and performing various Mudras from Bharatnatyam.
The program was culminated by Vote of thanks by Academic coordinator and a performance of students on the National Song – VandeMataram. The day was celebrated with unprecedented patriotic fervor.
