26th of January is an auspicious day for every Indian. On 26th January 1950, the Constitution of India came into force and our country, India became a Republic. We celebrate this day as a festival every year. MIS celebrated this day with great zeal and patriotic fervor followed by the Annual Sports Meet 2018-19.
The celebration started with the welcome of the Managing Director Mr. Pradeep Bawedekar and the Principal of the school, Mrs. Monika Chhabra with slow march. Further MD sir unfurled the national flag. All the students and teachers saluted the flag and honoured the National Anthem. The atmosphere of the school took a festive look. The principal, Mrs. Monika Chhabra inspired the audience with a great speech. Later, our Mitconites presented dances on patriotic and sports theme followed by gymnastics and Taekwondo display. They mesmerized the audience with their energetic performances. The proud parents could be seen filled with happiness to see their children performing.
The aim behind holding the event was to inculcate the spirit of sportsmanship and fondness for sports in children. The oath was taken by Yashraj Bankar of Grade 8 and the students solemnly pledged to uphold the spirit of true sportsmanship. The Principal declared the sports meet open after lighting the torch.
This was followed by races for students of Pre Primary and Primary. Parents cheered their wards and enjoyed their performances. The medals were awarded simultaneously.
At the end there was a surprise element, ‘Races for parents’. Most of the parents participated enthusiastically in the races and fun games which made the event more zealous and lively. Winners were awarded with medals. The event ended with Vande Mataram.
