In preschool, when our children begin making friends and build relationships along with their peers, we all realize that our children are developing friendship. This is an important time when they learn to give and take in friendship. By sharing experiences and interacting with one another, our children learn how to fulfill their social needs.
With this objective, MITCON International School celebrated the event “My Peer My Friend” with great zeal and excitement on occasion of World Friendship Day. A special assembly was presented by the Pre-Primary students on Friday, August 2, 2019. The students of UKG Class shared different thoughts on friendship in front of the audience. Class Teacher of LKG narrated the story of “Lord Krishna and Sudama” to signify the importance of true friendship. Role Play on friendship was conducted in LKG and UKG classes. The students were successful in delivering the moral that friends should always be together and true friends are like a family. The assembly continued with a dance performance by the tiny tots of Playgroup. They danced on the monsoon song “It’s raining raining” which was appreciated by all. The students showcased their talents beautifully. As an activity, Playgroup and Nursery students made the friendship cards and exchanged it with their friends. This socio-dramatization of ‘My Peer My Friend’ has provided our students with opportunities to begin to experience all the aspects of friendship. These aspects are beneficial for developing social relations. Overall our Pre-primary students enjoyed all the activities and proved it to be promising day.
