Celebrating The National Festival

India is a land of colourful festivities, but national festivals are something, which binds the entire nation together, imparting a message of ‘unity in diversity’.

January 26, which is marked as Indian Republic Day is a significant national festival celebrated every year to commemorate the day when the constitution came into effect in 1950. Most of us have grown up with fond memories of this day like hoisting the tricolour flags, watching the parade and the tableaus, celebrating the country’s independent spirit.

MIS International School celebrated the 73rd Republic Day with immense patriotic fervour and zeal. A plethora of activities were organised to infuse the spirit of unity, brotherhood and patriotism among the students.

The celebrations started with the flag hoisting ceremony. The Principal, Ms Monika Chhabra, hoisted the national flag with pride and reverence. The flag hoisting ceremony was shown to the students on a virtual platform. Along with the teachers, all students saluted the National flag and sang the National Anthem.

All the class teachers gave a brief description of Republic day and the importance of celebrating it. A nation is what its people want it to be. Today India is counted as one of the biggest republic countries, and this has been made possible because many decades ago our leaders spent sleepless nights to draft and adopt a Constitution. It is now our duty to take it forward and work towards making India a bigger and better county. Teachers’ motivational talk highlighted the duties & rights of citizens.

In today’s modern world, communication is the backbone of our society. It allows us to form connections, influence decisions, and motivate change. Without communication skills, the ability to progress in the professional world and in life itself would be nearly impossible. Public speaking is one of the most important forms of communication. It is a great way of personal development at many levels. Keeping this point in mind, every student was given an opportunity to give a speech on the topic ‘Significance of Republic Day’. All the young Mitconites influenced each other by expressing their love towards the motherland in their praise worthy speeches.

Pre Primary students celebrated this national by making ‘Tricolour paper wall hanging’ and ‘Republic day card’. All the children were dressed up in saffron, green and white colour outfits. The day was celebrated with pomp and show, zeal & enthusiasm. The event concluded with the expression of wonderful imagination and creativity. It was a memorable and amazing celebration.

Along with this the school authorities shared the link for watching the live streaming of Republic Day and Beating the Retreat ceremony with all the students and their parents. The registration on this link enabled the users to get the live-stream link for the Parade along with various updates on Republic Day activities on their registered Mobile Number. MIS made this day memorable for all students and parents along with the staff members.
