With this patriotic fervor echoing throughout the country, MIS International School along with the entire country celebrated the 76th Independence Day with great pomp and show. The enthusiasm shown by the staff and students at MIS International School was unmatched. The honourable chief guest, Commodore Sanjay Tiwari Sir, Principal, Ms. Monika Chhabra hoisted the flag at school. The principal congratulated the assembly on the completion of 75 years of Independence and prayed for the progress and prosperity of our motherland. Along with ‘Desh ki Azaadi’, she also put across the message of ‘Gadgets se Azaadi’ to develop equanimity in students. She applauded the sporting achievements of the Indian athletes in the recently concluded Commonwealth Games and exhorted the students to follow their example. Ma’am emphasized the importance of cultural activities which contribute immensely to the socio-emotional development of the students.
She also reminded the students of the sacrifice of the freedom fighters and our jawans at the border and exhorted the students to instill the values of sacrifice, humility and endurance from them. She also emphasized the importance of getting freedom from the negative thoughts and beliefs that bound us.
The school continued the celebrations through a plethora of musical and dance performances especially curated for this occasion. These performances were appreciated by the chief guest and parents as they invoked the patriotic spirit in all present. Through the various activities held in the celebrations, all the students and teachers were reminded that Independence Day has great importance in every citizen’s life. This day reminds us every year that freedom is sacred and citizens must do everything to ensure that it will not be endangered.
